Open for Business: Winfield Street Coffee
Winfield Street Coffee was created to be a community gathering coffee place where guests can find a warm smile, excellent coffee, and creative food. Coffee, breakfast, lunch, and catering are all available. We will start serving a liquor menu, including craft beers, wine, and mixed drinks, in our Stamford location, which will be open until 10pm daily.
Despite business being greatly impacted, is there anything you are proud of these last few months?
We are prouder than ever of the team we have built. Their selfless dedication to the business and to the community is impressive. Some of the team members used their own time during COVID-19 to come in and re-paint, sanitize, and do maintenance on the stores.
What additional steps are you taking to keep employees and customers safe?
We installed Plexiglass in front of the cash registers, we are sanitizing tables and restrooms after every use, we are using mobile ordering, and our staff has plenty of PPE, including custom masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer.
What do you consider to be your key differentiator in the marketplace post COVID-19?
COVID-19’s economic devastation will be even more catastrophic and with 40 million people unemployed, many will go without basic needs, like food. We realize that we need to use our resources to provide value to the community. Consequently, we decided to donate one meal for every check above $20 — our goal is to donate 10,000 meals by the end of the year to people in need in our communities.
What does reopening look like for your business?
We have reopened our Westport and Stamford stores, including patio seating. Each day has brought more customers and we are slowly getting back to the pre-COVID-19 revenue levels. We are excited to debut the liquor program at our Stamford location on June 19th with patio seating for 50, and indoor seating for 30. We will be reopening our Croton location on June 15th and we still plan on opening our Rye and NYC stores in the fall.
